What is natural living to you?
So many times, I look around and I see someone wanting to do better, and something more natural with their lives, but they either don’t know how to start, or maybe they feel trapped in this mad rush of a live we now live in. Too much is focused on trying to put another hour in a day, or trying to do things faster and better. There is nothing wrong with that, except we do it to the detriment of not only ourselves, and our health, but to the environment around us too. It is easy to forget our connection to being natural beings, connected to nature, especially when our daily lives are surrounded by artificial things at every turn.
The fear is that the ship has long sailed for the opportunity to go back to the “good old days” when things were slower and simpler. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t make personal choices so that we not only live better and healthier, but to also leave as little impact as possible during our daily lives. One of the best ways we can start to do this is to make purposeful decisions on how we shop, and what we use in our household. Maybe choosing not to buy disposable cups and plates, or if we do, how about making sure that what we buy is recycled and compost-able?
Another thing to think about, is do you know what is put into the stuff we use every day? Take the closest thing available (especially food) that you bought at the grocery store.. Yes, now go get it, and look at it. Now, take a look at the ingredient list. I don’t know about you, but in my mind, if I look at the ingredients for a loaf of bread for instance, I should be able to recognize each and every ingredient and know what it is. Ever made a loaf of home made bread?
Ingredients are pretty simple, straight forward, and easy to understand right? Now take that same product that you went to get just now. How many ingredients do you recognize on that list? Does it look like ingredients for a piece of food? Or does it look more like a chemistry experiment gone wrong? Just what are you putting in your body? Lets take it one step further…. For your other stuff, do you know what is in those? Wouldn’t you rather use something better instead? I took the pledge to use stuff as naturally as I can 22 years ago, and that’s why I share those things with you.
The question is, what would you rather spend your money on: Something that is natural and good for you? Or something created in a lab which will eventually cause issues and cannot possibly be good for you? Make the choice right now, today. What are you waiting for? Your body, and those you love are counting on you!
