What is an organic herb?
Organic is a term used in the United States to mean that it is grown in conditions as close to its natural state as possible. Depending on where they are sourced from, they may or may not be labeled as being so. This is due to differences in the way that other countries are regulated. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Dept of Agriculture are very strict on how the term “organic” and especially if producers wish for their products to be labeled as certified. They heavily regulate how the terms are used for both consistentcy, and public safety. Though we try to source locally when possible, some herbs just aren’t grown here in the US.
